LA VERGNE, Tenn. (WGNS) - The La Vergne Fire Department responded to a house fire early Wednesday morning on Topview Trail, where a family of four safely escaped without injury.
Fire crews were dispatched at 6:14 a.m. to 1014 Topview Trail after reports of a working residential fire. When firefighters arrived, the home’s occupants had already evacuated. According to officials, the family had been asleep when the fire broke out but was awakened by the sound of breaking glass and the smoke alarm, allowing them to exit safely.
Six fire units and two command staff worked the scene, bringing the blaze under control within 20 minutes. Firefighters rescued one cat from the home, though a second cat remains missing.
The La Vergne Police Department contacted the American Red Cross to provide emergency assistance and temporary shelter for the displaced residents.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. No injuries were reported among residents or firefighters.
