NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Department of Agriculture (TDA) is asking for the public’s help in identifying the individual or individuals responsible for a burglary at a Division of Forestry office in Lawrenceburg.
Between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. on Monday, August 25, 2025, a gloved and masked intruder entered the New Prospect office on Tower Road. Security footage shows the suspect searching compartments on a state truck before cutting the building’s phone lines and gaining entry through a side window.
Investigators reported that the burglar exited through a back door carrying multiple stolen items. The missing property includes a Stihl chainsaw, Stihl backpack blower, Ingersoll Rand air hammer, DeWalt router, DeWalt hammer drill, DeWalt grease gun, DeWalt 20V grinder, and a DeWalt 20V jig saw.
Authorities believe the thief had prior knowledge of the facility and surrounding property. Instead of approaching from the main road, which dead-ends at the office, the suspect is thought to have traveled through private land, cornfields, and pastures to park behind the building.
The incident is under investigation by the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office and the Agricultural Crime Unit. Neighbors with surveillance footage or evidence near their property are encouraged to assist.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the Agricultural Crime Unit at 844-AG-CRIME (844-242-7463) or email agriculture.crime@tn.gov.
