Two Arrests Made in Recent Break-Ins - Maybe More to Come?

Jun 05, 2013 at 06:00 am by Bryan Barrett

Murfreesboro Police have made two arrest in the recent rash of vehicle break-ins. The arrests occurred on Leaf Avenue and authorities were dispatched to the address as a witness actually saw the culprits in a vehicle, according to an arrest report. By the time police arrived on the scene, the two were standing next to a car on Boston Street at Harrison Avenue.

When the two subjects were questioned, they were said to have implicated each other in the break-ins. However, they did not indicate that they were involved in the vehicle break-ins that occurred near or at local Greenway parking lots. Those cases still remain “OPEN.”

In the arrests on Leaf Avenue, one juvenile and one adult by the name of Michael H. Thomas were apprehended. Thomas, who is 22-years of age, evidently lied to police about his identity when he was first questioned. Thomas was charged with two counts of burglarizing a vehicle, two counts of theft, criminal impersonation, violation of probation and with being a fugitive from justice. The age of the arrested juvenile was not released.
