Missing Woman Found Deceased in La Vergne, Police Investigating

LA VERGNE, Tenn. – A young woman reported missing on Tuesday evening was found dead the following afternoon outside of a business on Murfreesboro Road in La Vergne.

On Wednesday, September 17, 2025, the La Vergne Police Department received a call about an unconscious female in the parking lot of McDonald’s on Murfreesboro Road. Emergency personnel and officers quickly responded and discovered the woman deceased inside her vehicle.

Authorities identified the victim as 21-year-old Jocelynn Krauss, who was reported missing around 5 p.m. Tuesday after she did not return home from work.

The McDonald’s parking lot was immediately secured as investigators treated the scene as an active crime investigation. La Vergne detectives, crime scene personnel, and the Rutherford County Medical Examiner’s Office were all on site to begin their inquiry.

Police have not released further details on the cause of death but confirmed the investigation remains ongoing. Residents are urged to avoid the area as detectives continue to process the scene.
