Tullahoma, TN - For many families in Rutherford County, Arnold Engineering Development Complex in Tullahoma isn’t just a workplace—it’s a vital part of daily life. That’s why the news of a newly ratified five-year Collective Bargaining Agreement between Beyond New Horizons (BNH) and the Arnold Engineering Metal Trades Council (AEMTC) is making poe waves across Murfreesboro and surrounding communities.

After negotiations that began on August 19, 2025, the AEMTC officially informed BNH that its membership ratified the agreement at 5:20PM on September 18, 2025. The new contract goes into effect next Wednesday, October 1 and includes a reopener clause after the third year for limited adjustments.

This agreement directly affects more than 700 skilled craft professionals at Arnold Air Force Base—many of whom commute daily from Rutherford County. The collaborative spirit between union and company representatives was key to reaching a deal that both sides say will strengthen the workforce and support the Air Force mission.

Mike Hollowell, BNH’s chief spokesperson for the bargaining team, praised the process and the outcome. “This new contract is a result of hard work and good-faith negotiations. We’re committed to a positive and collaborative relationship with our unionized employees.”

Ashley Schultz, speaking for the AEMTC, echoed that sentiment. “I’m proud of what we were able to accomplish. We’re ready to keep building a better AEDC together.”

With so many Rutherford Countians employed at Arnold Air Force Base, this agreement brings stability and optimism to local households. It’s a win not just for the base, but for the broader community that supports it.
