Kennesaw, GA - The Middle Tennessee State University Blue Raiders traveled to Kennesaw, Georgia, to face the Kennesaw State Owls in a Conference USA matchup on Saturday (9/27/2025). Despite a late-game push, MTSU came up short, losing 24–16 at Fifth Third Stadium. The three touchdowns, included a 53-yard bomb to Chase Belcher and a 29-yard strike to Gabriel Benyard.
MTSU’s Jekail Middlebrook led the charge with 109 rushing yards and two touchdowns, one in the second quarter and another in the fourth.
Quarterback Nicholas Vattiano threw for 285 yards but was intercepted once.
Kennesaw’s QB Amari Odom threw for 162 yards and two touchdowns before exiting in the fourth quarter with a shoulder injury.
The Owls (3–2) celebrated their third straight win and a strong start to Conference USA play. Meanwhile, the Blue Raiders (1–4) are still searching for consistency as they prepare to host Missouri State next.
MTSU is currently 1–4 overall, with a tough schedule ahead. Their next home game against Missouri State on October 8, 2025 will be a chance to bounce back and build momentum. This will be the first of three Wednesday night games. Kickoff at Johnny Floyd Stadium is at 6:30PM. The Blue Raider will face Missouri State.
