RECAP: Murfreesboro, TN - A new freestanding emergency room will soon be built at the intersection of S. Church Street at Warrior Drive. The Tennessee Health Facilities Commission unanimously approved TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center’s Certificate of Need to build the future emergency room in southern Murfreesboro.
This news came shortly after the Rutherford County Commission pushed forward their support of the additional medical care coverage for the community, in the form of a resolution...
The $19 million TriStar Murfreesboro ER will bring 24/7 emergency care to one of the fastest-growing areas in Tennessee.
With 11 treatment rooms, a trauma bay, full-service lab, advanced imaging, and a three-bay transport base, the new facility is designed to handle serious medical needs quickly and efficiently. “This ER is a critical investment in the health and safety of our community,” said Lou Caputo, TriStar StoneCrest’s CEO.
TriStar has long served Murfreesboro through urgent care and medical offices, but last year alone, over 8,000 residents traveled to Smyrna for ER services. This new location will help ease that burden and reduce wait times across Rutherford County. It’ll accept all insurance providers, including TennCare.
Community support played a huge role in getting the project approved. More than 1,200 letters were submitted in favor, and the Certificate of Need passed with a 7-0 vote. TriStar StoneCrest expressed deep gratitude to everyone who advocated for the ER—from local residents to elected officials.
