Beware 'Boro Bottlenecks!

This is perfect weather for construction projects, and crews are moving quickly to get as much behind them before the intensive heat of summer hits. City Traffic Engineer Ram Balachandran shows potential traffic challenges for now through June 15th.

City Construction Projects 

Bradyville Pike Road Survey Work (between Broad Street and Rutherford Blvd)

Expected No Lane Closures:  Monday – Friday:  Incidental surveying work continues on the side streets along Bradyville Pike between Broad Street and Rutherford Blvd.  There will be no lane closures.  Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.

N Thompson Lane at Sulphur Springs Road Intersection Improvement Project

Expected Lane Closures:  Monday through Friday:  Sulphur Spring Road will be closed between Thompson Lane and Breckenridge Drive for road construction work.  Traffic to and from Thompson Lane and Sulphur Springs Drive will be detoured through Breckenridge Drive.  Access to local residents on Sulphur Springs Road will be kept open at all times.  Proper traffic control signs will be in place for the detour.  Shoulder and ditch work continues on Thompson Lane.

Joe B Jackson Pkwy Construction Project (I-24 and S Church Street)

Expected Lane Closures:  Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm:  Construction work continues on Joe B Jackson Pkwy between I-24 and S Church Street.  Utility crossing, fill material, stripping topsoil and storm drain construction work continues on Joe B Jackson Pkwy between S Church Street and County Farm Road.  Traffic will be reduced to one lane with flagging operation.  The appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

N Thompson Lane Re-paving Project (between NW Broad Street and Memorial Blvd)

Expected Lane Closures:  Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm:  Contractor for Tennessee Department of Transportation will be doing incidental paving, striping and traffic signal loop cutting on N Thompson Lane.  There will be minor lane closures and traffic interruptions.  Proper traffic controls will be in place.

Cason Lane Sewer Line Repair Project (between Parkwood Drive and Veterans Pkwy)

Expected Lane Closures:  Monday through Friday:  The contractor for the Water and Sewer Department will begin replacing sanitary sewer lines on Cason Lane between Parkwood Drive and Veterans Pkwy.  This section of Cason Lane will be closed to through traffic.  Traffic to and from Veterans Pkwy will be detoured onto Saint Andrews Drive.  Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
