Murfreesboro, TN - MTSU’s Department of Theatre and Dance is diving into the emotional world of teenage girl hood with its latest production, The Wolves, now showing through Friday, October 10, at the Debra K. Anderson Studio Theatre at the Boutwell Dramatic Arts Building, 615B Champion Way.

Written by Sarah DeLappe and directed by assistant professor Lauren Shouse, The Wolves follows a high school girls’ indoor soccer team as they warm up before games. But this isn’t just about soccer—it’s about growing up, figuring things out, and finding your voice.

The entire play unfolds during pregame stretches and drills, with nine girls talking about everything from global politics to personal heartbreak. Their conversations overlap, collide, and reveal the messy, beautiful complexity of adolescence.

Shouse says the play challenges traditional ideas of what it means to be a “good young woman,” giving the characters space to explore who they are outside of the roles others expect them to play.

Performances run nightly at 7:30 p.m. through Saturday, Oct. 4, with a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. The show picks back-up on Tuesday, Oct. 7, and continues through Friday, Oct. 10. Tickets are $10 for general admission, $7 for seniors, and just $5 for MTSU students. They are available online or at the box office—but don’t be late. No entry is allowed after the box office closes.

With its sharp dialogue and emotional depth, The Wolves is a must-see for anyone who’s ever been a teenager—or known one.
