SMYRNA, Tenn. — The Smyrna Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying two individuals who apparently couldn’t resist the sweet, icy temptation of Kohl’s kitchen appliances — specifically, a cart full of slushy makers. Kohl's has the excitingly impressive Ninja brand Slushi machines for around $350 each, and that's the price before any savings have been applied.
The alleged theft happened on September 26, 2025, at the Kohl’s store in Smyrna, where the pair reportedly skipped the checkout line altogether and opted for the express exit — better known as the emergency door — before speeding away in a silver sedan.
According to the photos released by Smyrna Police, the female suspect was sporting what could best be described as “gym casual” — a skin-tight sleeveless shirt and spandex-style shorts. She was also accessorized with prescription eyeglasses, an Apple Watch on her left wrist, and tattoos covering both arms and portions of her legs.
Her accomplice, the male suspect, was dressed in a maroon T-shirt and gray shorts, a look that screamed “I’m just here for the slushy machines.” Witnesses say he was seen pushing a cart full of the chilly drink makers straight out the emergency exit — no receipt required.
If you have any information that could help Smyrna Police identify this frosty-minded duo, contact Detective Andrew Schaefer at 615-267-5048 or email andrew.schaefer@townofsmyrna.org.
Kohl’s has not commented on whether any of the slushy makers were later returned — or at least enjoyed responsibly.
