Nashville, TN - Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt has once again been named the No. 1 children’s hospital in Tennessee and tied for first in the Southeast, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2025–2026 rankings. The children’s hospital has been listed for 19 consecutive years.
For families in Murfreesboro, this recognition hits close to home—literally. Monroe Carell’s growing presence in Rutherford County includes a major facility at 2102 W. Northfield Blvd. offering both surgery and clinics, plus additional locations on Medical Center Parkway and Kennedy Drive. These sites bring nationally ranked pediatric care to Murfreesboro.
This year’s rankings spotlight Monroe Carell’s excellence across 10 of 11 pediatric specialties, with urology breaking into the national top 10. The hospital also reached a new milestone: No. 20 overall in the country, based on total points received.
Dr. Meg Rush, president of Monroe Carell, called the recognition “a testament to the unwavering dedication and compassion” of the hospital’s teams. She emphasized the mission to provide top-tier care to every child, especially during life’s most vulnerable moments.
The accolades come just months after the hospital completed a four-floor expansion and announced plans for Tennessee’s first pediatric inpatient rehabilitation unit. As Monroe Carell continues to grow, its impact on Middle Tennessee families grows with it—bringing world-class care closer to home and proving once again that children’s health is a community priority.
