SHELBYVILLE, TN — About 20 minutes south of Murfreesboro, authorities in neighboring Bedford County are asking for the public’s assistance in solving a disturbing case of vandalism. The Shelbyville Police Department is attempting to identify two individuals — a man and a woman — who may have ties to damage recently discovered at Willow Mount Cemetery.
Investigators released a photo showing the duo alongside a mid-2010s Chevrolet Traverse, which was reportedly seen parked near the cemetery around the time of the vandalism. Detectives say the pair were caught on camera visiting the area near the intersection of Highway 41 and Lane Parkway in Shelbyville.
While the extent of the damage has not yet been released, police are treating the case as a serious act of vandalism, given the location’s sacred nature. Authorities hope someone may recognize the individuals — or at least the vehicle — and come forward with information.
Anyone with information that could help identify the suspects or the vehicle is urged to contact Detective Dylan Farrar at 931-684-5811. Shelbyville Police emphasized that even small details could be critical in resolving this case and bringing accountability for the vandalism at the historic cemetery.
