MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — The spooky season is creeping up, and so is one of Murfreesboro’s favorite fall traditions — the annual Barfield Bash, happening Friday and Saturday, October 24th and 25th, at Barfield Crescent Park... Assistant parks director Thomas Laird told WGNS the community event, which began in 2001, continues to be a seasonal favorite for visitors of all ages...

This year’s event promises two nights filled with carnival-style games, Halloween-themed activities, and the always-popular haunted hayride, known as “Old Scream Road.” The hayride is the centerpiece of the event and features eerie scenes brought to life by local theater groups, parks department staff, and even city landscapers who help turn the woods into a chilling adventure for thrill-seekers... Organizers assure attendees that while the scares are spine-tingling, they’re also safe — even the chainsaws featured on Old Scream Road are blade-free.

For families with young children, the “Not-So-Haunted Hayride” offers a gentler experience. This ride brings to life the storytelling fun of “The Three Little Pigs” and other classic tales, complete with meet-and-greet opportunities with beloved fairy tale characters along the route.

While the hayride themes and stories have changed over the years, one thing has remained constant... Barfield Bash continues to be a family-friendly celebration that brings the Murfreesboro community together under the autumn moon. Visitors can enjoy refreshments, games, and a night of Halloween fun in the park.

Again, the annual Barfield Bash will be held Friday and Saturday, October 24th and 25th, at Barfield Crescent Park, located off Veterans Parkway in Murfreesboro. Barfield Crescent Park is located in Murfreesboro at 697 Veterans Parkway.
