Murfreesboro, TN - This Saturday’s “No Kings” rally in Murfreesboro has a new home. Originally planned for The Avenue, the event has been relocated downtown due to multiple activities scheduled in the shopping district. Rallygoers will now gather on the public sidewalk along Broad Street, behind the City Hall and Linebaugh Library. The time and date remain the same: 2:00 until 4:00 o'clock this Saturday afternoon (10/18/2025). Only the rally point has changed.

Organizers from Murfreesboro Indivisible say the change ensures a safer, more accessible space for participants. Parking is available in the City Hall-Linebaugh Library garage on nearby streets around the Square.

The rally is part of a nationwide day of peaceful, nonpartisan protest against authoritarianism and in support of the U.S. Constitution. Thousands of similar events are planned across the country. Murfreesboro Indivisible, a local grassroots group, is coordinating the local effort and has worked with city police to ensure a secure environment.

“We want everyone to know the rally is no longer at The Avenue,” said Susan Myers-Shirk, the group’s leader. “We’ll be downtown, near the library, standing up for democracy.”

Attendees are encouraged to bring signs, keep language family-friendly, and avoid bringing weapons of any kind. The group emphasizes peaceful, lawful action and encourages participants to share photos using #NoKings.
