EAGLEVILLE, Tenn. (WGNS) — The City of Eagleville has appointed Jami Averwater as its new Municipal Judge, officially taking the bench on Wednesday (October 15th, 2025). The appointment was approved by the Eagleville City Council and fills a vacancy in the city’s municipal court. She replaces Kirk Catron, who stepped down earlier this year following legal issues unrelated to his judicial duties.
Averwater currently serves on the Murfreesboro City Council and the Murfreesboro Planning Commission, and has a background in law and public service. She will oversee proceedings related to city ordinance violations, traffic citations, and other municipal matters.
Averwater’s appointment sets her term through January 2027. Her name is now listed in the Municipal Technical Advisory Service (MTAS) directory as Eagleville’s presiding judge.
