Oct 24, 2025 at 12:35 pm by WGNS News

La Vergne, TN - A quiet Friday morning in La Vergne was interrupted by the sound of sirens as emergency crews rushed to Blair Road near Waldron Road. The La Vergne Fire & Rescue Department responded to a single-vehicle crash that left one person trapped inside their car—alongside two small dogs.

When firefighters arrived, they found the vehicle in a precarious position with the driver unable to exit. Without hesitation, crews began working to safely extract both the driver and the pets. Thanks to their quick and coordinated efforts, all three were brought to safety. The driver, who appeared to have only minor injuries, was taken to StoneCrest Medical Center for non-emergency medical treatment. The dogs, thankfully unharmed, were comforted by firefighters until officers from the La Vergne Police Department arrived to escort them home at the owner's request.

The scene was a testament to teamwork, with La Vergne Police and Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services joining Fire & Rescue to ensure everyone was cared for. It was a morning that could have ended much differently—but thanks to the swift response and compassion of local crews, it became a story of rescue and relief.
