From Bell Buckle to the Ivy League: Webb Students Gain Elite College Prep Edge

Bell Buckle, TN - Just 16 miles southeast of Murfreesboro, nestled in the quiet town of Bell Buckle, The Webb School has long stood as a beacon of tradition and academic excellence. Founded in 1870, it holds the distinction of being the South’s oldest continuously operating boarding school. With students from 10 states and 25 countries, Webb is known for cultivating honor, integrity, and global citizenship in grades 6 through 12.

Now, the school is making headlines again—this time for reimagining how college counseling is done. In a bold partnership with Blue Ivy Coaching, an internationally recognized college advising firm, Webb is offering its families a game-changing level of support. The new model brings the student-to-counselor ratio down to just 25:1, a far cry from the national public-school average of 376:1.

“Our goal is to ensure that every student—regardless of background, interest or ambition—receives the expert guidance they need to reach their highest potential,” said Dr. Polly Parker, Webb’s head of school.

Blue Ivy’s team includes Ivy League alumni, financial aid strategists, and specialists in everything from architecture to international admissions. Students won’t just get a checklist—they’ll get a team, a plan, and the space to explore what truly excites them.

The results speak volumes. Blue Ivy students are three times more likely to land at a Top 50 college, with an 88.5% acceptance rate to their top five choices and over $10 million in scholarships awarded last year alone.

With on-campus support from Blue Ivy liaison David Cicotello and a hybrid model of virtual and in-person advising, Webb is setting a new standard for what’s possible in college prep. It’s a move that blends the school’s rich heritage with a forward-thinking commitment to student success.
