Murfreesboro, TN - Leadership Rutherford is stepping into its 40th year with purpose and pride. Since its first graduating class in 1985, more than 2,200 professionals and students have completed the program, each contributing to the county’s leadership landscape. Now operating under the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce, the program continues to thrive under the guidance of COO Stephanie Brackman, who has led the initiative since 2018.
The Class of 2026 began their journey with Agriculture & Commerce Day, a dynamic kickoff that spotlighted the industries shaping Rutherford County’s growth. But as new participants dive in, Brackman emphasizes that the heart of Leadership Rutherford lies in its alumni.
“Alumni involvement is essential,” she shared. “It strengthens the experience for new graduates and allows past participants to keep growing, connecting, and giving back.”
That spirit of connection will be front and center at the upcoming 2025 Leadership Rutherford Alumni Luncheon on Monday, November 10. Held at the Murfreesboro Municipal Airport, the event features retired Lieutenant General Keith Huber as keynote speaker. His message—“Leadership Through Service”—will honor veterans and inspire attendees to lead with purpose.
In support of the Tennessee State Veterans’ Home, donations will be collected at the luncheon, including activity books, art supplies, and comfort items for residents. Registration is $15 and closes Friday, October 31.
Brackman invites alumni to attend, reconnect, and continue shaping the future of Rutherford County. “Thank you for being an integral part of the Leadership Rutherford community,” she said. “Your continued support keeps this legacy alive.”
With a new class underway and alumni gathering to celebrate service, Leadership Rutherford proves that leadership isn’t just taught—it’s lived, year after year.
