Smyrna, TN - Smyrna High School’s award-winning TV & Film Production program is once again turning heads—this time with its first-ever original student television series, The Fifth Block. The six-episode sketch-comedy show premieres Saturday, November 8 at 9:30 PM on TrueBlueTV, airing weekly and reaching viewers nationwide through syndicated PEG stations.

Written, produced, and performed entirely by students, The Fifth Block is more than just a comedy—it’s a showcase of Smyrna High’s creative spirit and technical talent. With the tagline “This is what happens after the last bell,” the series captures the energy and imagination that thrive beyond the classroom walls.

The program has already made waves with two full-length feature films, The Strings Attached and REAL, both now streaming on Amazon Prime Video. This latest project builds on that momentum, offering students hands-on experience in every aspect of production—from writing and acting to camera work, lighting, sound, and editing.

TrueBlueTV viewers in Rutherford County can tune in via Comcast Xfinity channels 9 and 1096, or stream through Roku, Apple TV, and Amazon Fire using the TrueBlue TV App.

As students juggle scripts and soundboards under real broadcast deadlines, The Fifth Block stands as a testament to Smyrna High’s commitment to preparing the next generation of storytellers. It’s not just a show—it’s a milestone, a classroom turned studio, and a bold leap into the world of professional television.
