You may notice an increase in campers throughout the day today (Thursday). That is because Bonnaroo officially starts on today (Thursday). We are told the gates of Bonnaroo swung open a day early this year on Wednesday afternoon and a large number of people entered, despite the fact the music does not begin until today (Thursday).

Believe or not, many had been having a good time in the parking lot of the Manchester Walmart since Monday afternoon. Capt. Frank Watkins of the Coffee County Sheriff’s Department noted that officers had written a few citations to partiers for possession of marijuana and mushrooms, but not much else at this point. Manchester Police Investigator Billy Butler and his department has also issued citations for simple possession of mushrooms.

For party goers, this may be a spoiler, but this year all festival attendees will have their vehicles searched when entering the grounds.
