The initiative gives parents and caregivers vital tools, resources, and emergency support to better manage their child’s healthcare journey.
Through a secure, HIPAA-compliant system, EMS professionals can instantly access key medical details in an emergency — saving precious time when seconds count. The program also connects families with local first responders, utility companies, and disaster-preparedness resources to strengthen care and communication before emergencies happen.

Their child’s pertinent medical information will then be securely provided to EMS teams in the event of an emergency through a HIPAA- compliant portal. This ensures that EMS professionals have immediate access to vital medical details, enabling them to deliver the best possible care when seconds count.
• Supportive Community Connections: MyHero Cares fosters collaboration between families and local EMS teams, helping to build relationships before emergencies occur. The program also facilitates disaster preparedness by working with local utility companies to address unique needs during service interruptions or natural disasters. Additionally, EMS teams receive specialized training to better prepare them for the unique medical and logistical needs of children with complex conditions.
