Murfreesboro, TN – Motorists traveling along Old Lascassas Pike should prepare for traffic interruptions beginning this Monday, November 17, 2025. A temporary lane shift will be in place near East Northfield Boulevard at 1834 Old Lascassas Pike. The shift is scheduled daily from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, November 17–21, or until the work is completed. Drivers should expect reduced speeds in the construction zone.

The project is being carried out by Dreamhomes, a City contractor, and involves constructing full-depth shoulders and widening the roadway to a three-lane cross section. The improvements are designed to enhance traffic flow and safety along this busy corridor, but the work will temporarily affect travel patterns in the area.

City officials are encouraging motorists to plan ahead and consider alternate routes to avoid delays. Suggested detours include using Old Lascassas between Rutherford Boulevard and Gold Valley or North Tennessee Boulevard between Northfield Boulevard and East Clark Boulevard. These routes are expected to ease congestion and help drivers bypass the construction zone.

While the lane shift is temporary, officials stress the importance of caution and patience during the project. Reduced speed limits will be enforced to protect both workers and drivers. The expansion project reflects ongoing efforts to improve Murfreesboro’s infrastructure and accommodate the city’s growing traffic demands.

Residents and commuters are advised to stay alert for signage and traffic control measures in the area. Once completed, the widened roadway will provide greater capacity and improved safety for motorists traveling through this section of Old Lascassas Pike.
