HERMITAGE, Tenn. (WGNS) - The future of Tennessee’s high school football playoff structure takes center stage Thursday, November 20, when the TSSAA Board of Control meets at 8:30 a.m. CST in Hermitage. With 2025 marking the first year of the new Division I playoff bracket format, board members will evaluate how the system was received across the state and consider next steps. If they choose to move forward with the format, brackets for years two through four of the 2025–2029 classification cycle will need approval in a later meeting.

In addition to football discussions, the Board will review proposed Bylaw changes presented during this year’s Regional Meetings ahead of Legislative Council action in December. Members will also consider membership requests from Tri-Cities Christian Academy (seeking entry for 2026–27) and Dr. Paul L. Kelley Volunteer Academy (seeking entry for 2025–26).
