Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Announces Multiple Promotions Across the Department

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — (November 19, 2025) The Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department (MFRD) is proud to announce the recent promotions of several members of the department. These individuals have demonstrated professionalism, commitment, and service to the community, earning this well-deserved recognition.

Jim White, with 22 years of service, and Ridge McMahan, with six years at MFRD, have been promoted to Fire Inspector joining the Fire Marshal's team. Their attention to detail, safety-first approach, and leadership in fire prevention have made a lasting impact and they will continue to elevate the standard in their new roles.

Matthew Twomey, a 13-year veteran of MFRD, has been promoted to Captain. His leadership, steady guidance, and ability to motivate others have been invaluable. As Captain, he will continue to lead with integrity and help strengthen his team.

Zac Wolaver, with five years at MFRD, and Josh Hayes, with four years of service, have been promoted to Engineer. Their technical skills, reliability, and dedication to excellence have been clear throughout their careers, and they are well-prepared to succeed in their new positions.

“These promotions represent years of hard work, sacrifice, and dedication to protecting and serving our community,” said Fire Chief Mark McCluskey. “We are incredibly proud of each of these firefighters. Their commitment and leadership set a strong example for our entire department.”
