LA VERGNE, Tenn. — A Thanksgiving Day traffic stop in La Vergne resulted in the arrest of a driver now facing multiple felony drug and DUI charges, according to authorities. Police said Officer Gad was on patrol on Murfreesboro Road traveling toward Antioch when he observed a vehicle with illegal window tint and initiated a traffic stop. During the stop, the officer made observations that led him to believe the driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
The driver was asked to exit the vehicle, and officers immediately noticed several small baggies in plain view. Police also discovered the driver was carrying a large amount of cash on his person. The driver was taken into custody for driving under the influence. A search conducted incident to the arrest led to the seizure of multiple baggies of cocaine with a field weight of 52.2 grams, additional empty baggies, a functional digital scale, and $1,532 in cash.

Police also confirmed that the suspect’s truck and the cash were seized as part of the ongoing investigation. La Vergne Police officials emphasized that officers remain vigilant at all hours — including holidays — to ensure the safety of the community.
