LA VERGNE, Tenn. – The City of La Vergne is gearing up for the 15th annual Parade of Lights, returning to Murfreesboro Road this Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. Themed “’Twas the Night Before Christmas,” this year’s parade will feature illuminated floats, local community groups, performances, and an appearance by Santa Claus as the procession makes its way down Murfreesboro Road from City Hall to Floyd Mayfield Drive.
This long-standing holiday tradition brings residents and visitors together to celebrate the season, with festivities continuing immediately after the parade at Veterans Memorial Park. Families can enjoy a tree lighting ceremony at the conclusion of the parade, along with cookies and treats, fireworks, ice skating, and photos with Santa. The snow rink is free, first come, first served, with skates available on-site; participants are limited to one hour of skate time so that more families can enjoy the rink.
City officials are reminding drivers to plan ahead. Murfreesboro Road will close at 4:15 p.m. for the duration of the parade. Westbound traffic will be diverted into one of the eastbound lanes, and vehicles will not be allowed to cross Murfreesboro Road between Floyd Mayfield Drive and Bicentennial Park. Roadblocks will be in place, and Street Department staff along with La Vergne Police officers will be stationed along the route to assist with closures and traffic control.
