SMYRNA, TN - The Town of Smyrna is preparing to celebrate a milestone this weekend as the community gathers for the 50th Annual Christmas Parade. Scheduled for Sunday, December 7, 2025, at 2 p.m., the parade will march northbound along Lowry Street from Mayfield Drive to Nolan Drive, rain or shine. This year’s theme, “A Vintage Christmas,” invites participants to embrace creativity with floats, costumes, and decorations that capture the warmth of holiday traditions from years past.

Leading the parade will be Smyrna Fire Chief Brian Goss, setting the tone for a procession filled with marching bands, classic cars, dance teams, and festive displays. Of course, the highlight for many will be the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus, who will greet families along the route and wave to children eagerly awaiting their appearance.

While the parade promises entertainment and nostalgia, it also carries a deeper purpose. In honor of the event’s golden anniversary, the Town of Smyrna is pairing the celebration with a community food drive. Town personnel will collect non‑perishable food items from spectators along the route, while parade participants can contribute at check‑in. All donations will benefit Nourish Food Bank, ensuring that local families in need receive support during the holiday season.

Heather Kent, Public Information Officer for the Town of Smyrna, emphasized the importance of blending tradition with service. “This parade has always been about bringing people together,” Kent noted. “This year, we’re asking everyone to join us in giving back, so the joy of the season reaches even further.”

Organizers encourage attendees to arrive early to secure a good viewing spot along Lowry Street or Mayfield Drive. With no entry fee required for participants, the event remains accessible to all, and residents are urged to bring canned goods, boxed meals, or other shelf‑stable items to hand to town personnel as they pass by.
