MURFREESBORO, TN - After coming home from school, 15-year old Jaydein Richards was asked to do his homework. Instead of settling in, he refused, grew upset, and ran out of the house. He left behind his phones, a detail that makes his disappearance even more concerning, as it limits his ability to reach out or be contacted.
Jaydein was last seen dressed in all black, carrying a Nike backpack, and wearing his curly afro. His guardian believes he may be heading toward Louisiana, the state he originally called home. That possibility has widened the search beyond Tennessee, making coordination across state lines essential.
Murfreesboro Police have already taken the critical step of entering Jaydein into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC). This national database ensures that police agencies across the country are alerted to his missing status. If Jaydein is stopped, identified, or comes into contact with officers anywhere, they will immediately know he is missing and can take steps to reunite him with his guardian. Federal law requires that missing children under 18 be entered into NCIC within two hours of the report, and Jaydein’s case now has nationwide visibility.
The NCIC entry also triggers notification to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, which can assist with poster distribution and case management. The record remains active until Jaydein is found, and if circumstances escalate, it could even support an AMBER Alert.
For now, local authorities are asking the community to stay alert. If you see Jaydein Richards or know where he might be, you are urged to call Detective Smith at 629-201-5568 or dispatch at 615-893-1311. Every detail matters, and with national coordination in place, the hope is that Jaydein will be located quickly and safely.
