PODCAST: On today’s episode of the plant powered WGNS Action Line, host Scott Walker is joined by UT/TSU Rutherford County Agriculture Extension Office "Certified" Master Gardeners Beth Brinkley, Ran Powers, and Carol Wood for an informative conversation about gardening during the cooler months. The group explains why fall and winter are actually some of the best times to start planning composting and even some planting, especially when it comes to cool-season vegetables. Listeners will learn how early preparation, smart garden design, and raised-bed planning can lead to stronger plants and better harvests in the months ahead.
The discussion also highlights opportunities to get involved with the Rutherford County Agriculture Extension Service, including visiting the local office and attending the weekly Winter–Spring Farmers Market at Lane Agri Park (8AM - Noon Every Friday).
As always, listeners are encouraged to submit lawn and garden questions to be answered on future shows by local Extension agents and Master Gardeners. Text questions to 615-893-1450.
