Donations may be dropped off during regular business hours at participating library branches across the county… Amanda Caperton told WGNS News that food items can be donated daily during normal operating hours…

In addition to traditional non-perishable food collections, the Smyrna Public Library is adding a unique twist to its holiday giving efforts... The Smyrna Public Library is located at 400 Enon Springs Road in Smyrna. Those with questions about the Smyrna drive, or who would like to become more involved, are encouraged to contact the Youth Services Department by email at SmyrnaYS@RCLStn.org.

As food drives continue systemwide, another seasonal effort is also gaining momentum… Dog and cat food donations are being accepted at all Rutherford County Library locations to support local animal needs during the holidays.

Regardless of how residents choose to give, library officials say the message remains the same… Whether donating non-perishable food items for community members or supplies for their four-legged family members, Rutherford County Library locations are united in their goal of making a positive impact throughout the holiday season.

DATES FOR LIBRARY CLOSINGS: All branches of the Rutherford County Library System will be closed for the Christmas Holiday period on Wednesday, December 24, 2025 and Thursday, December 25, 2025. They will also be closed for New Years Day on Thursday, January 1, 2026 and later that same month for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday, January 19, 2026.
