UPDATE: State Representative Joe Carr Announces Event in His Run for Congress

The race to the 4th district U.S. Congressional Seat currently held by Republican Scott DesJarlais is heating up between Tennessee Senator Jim Tracy (Republican) and Tennessee State Representative Joe Carr (Republican). The latest news on the campaign trail is from the Carr headquarters in Lascassas.

Thomsen Smith (Picked to lead Congressional Exploratory Committee for Carr in Feb.) who is with the Carr campaign, told WGNS via an email on Monday that a fundraiser for Carr will be held on June 26 at the Gateway Village in Murfreesboro. The cost to attend the reception is $250 per couple and the cost to host the reception is $1,000 per couple.

House Majority Leader Gerald McCormick, House Caucus Chairman Glen Casada and Campaign Consultant Chip Saltsman will all be in attendance at the event on the 26th. 

In May, Carr's campaign informed WGNS that in just 6 weeks, his exploratory committee raised over $205,000.
