MURFREESBORO, TN — A 21-year-old man was killed Sunday in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 24, marking the second fatal traffic incident reported in Murfreesboro over the weekend.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on eastbound I-24 near mile marker 78. Authorities said the driver, identified as Joseph Morgan, was traveling in the far right lane when his vehicle crossed over a gore divider and entered an exit ramp.
Investigators reported that the vehicle continued across the ramp before leaving the roadway and striking a tree on the far right side. Morgan sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers indicated that Morgan was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Officials noted the incident was among multiple crashes reported in Murfreesboro on Sunday, though no additional information was immediately released. The crash remains under investigation.
