MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — A long‑imagined dream for Greenhouse Ministries is almost ready to welcome its first guests. The Ivy on Spring Coffee House, tucked just around the corner from the Greenhouse Thrift Shop, has moved one step closer to becoming a reality. Executive Director Christy Sanford told NewsRadio WGNS that all city requirements have now been met and approved, clearing the way for the final stretch of preparation.
Sanford said the team is energized as they move toward opening day, noting that Ivy on Spring is designed to be more than a place to grab a cup of coffee. It will serve as a warm, community‑minded extension of Greenhouse Ministries’ mission, offering a space where neighbors can gather, volunteers can connect, and hope can quietly take root.
When asked when the public can expect to walk through the doors, Sanford shared that the timeline is looking bright. If all continues on schedule, the coffee house should be open by mid‑February or early March, giving Murfreesboro a new spot to enjoy just as winter begins to lift.
Inside the shop, visitors will also find a curated display of upscale merchandise—another way Greenhouse Ministries blends dignity, opportunity, and community support. Alongside the retail corner, the new space will offer an additional needed service for guests, further expanding the organization’s reach in practical, everyday ways.
Through every detail, Sanford emphasized that Ivy on Spring is built around a simple but powerful idea: continuing to “plant hope in the ’Boro.” With approvals in hand and finishing touches underway, that hope is getting ready to brew.
