The Arts Center of Cannon County is preparing to open its next major stage production, The Music Man, bringing the classic, family-friendly musical to Woodbury audiences later this month. The production is scheduled to open Friday, January 23, and will run through Saturday, February 7, at the award-winning Arts Center of Cannon County.

Directed by Renee Robinson, The Music Man tells the story of fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill, who arrives in River City, Iowa, and convinces residents to purchase instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band he claims he will organize—despite having no musical ability himself. Hill’s plans to leave town with the money unravel when he falls for Marian Paroo, the town librarian, ultimately leading to his transformation by the final curtain.

The production is rated G and is suitable for audiences of all ages. Performances will take place over three weekends, with evening shows at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2:00 p.m. Specific performance dates include January 23–25, January 30–February 1, and February 6–7.

Tickets are currently on sale, with adult tickets priced at $17, senior and student tickets at $15, and group rates available for parties of ten or more. Tickets may be purchased online, by phone, or in person at the Arts Center box office in Woodbury.

The cast features Keith Wortham as Harold Hill and Lindsey Wortham as Marian Paroo, supported by a large ensemble of local performers. Music direction is provided by Nicholas True, choreography by Sophie True, and stage management by Matthew Wells.

Arts Center officials encourage residents of Cannon County and surrounding Middle Tennessee communities to secure tickets early, noting that The Music Man remains one of the most beloved and enduring musicals in American theater.
