York VA’s Building 107 Reopens With Focus on Veteran Wellness and Clinical Training

MURFREESBORO, TN (WGNS News) - The Tennessee Valley Healthcare System is inviting Veterans, their families, and the wider community to celebrate a major milestone at 1:00 o'clock Friday afternoon (Jan. 23, 2026) at the newly renovated Building 107 at the Alvin C. York VA Medical Center. The 37,000‑square‑foot facility has been part of the York campus since 1959, but its latest transformation brings a fresh focus on whole‑person wellness and hands‑on clinical training. Inside, visitors will find dedicated spaces for recreational therapy programs that have been shown to boost physical and emotional well‑being. Music therapy, creative arts therapy, adaptive sports, yoga, and Tai Chi all have a home in the redesigned building, giving Veterans more opportunities to heal, connect, and stay active.

One of the most advanced additions is the new Simulation Lab, a high‑tech training environment where clinicians can practice real‑world medical scenarios using life‑like mannequins. These simulations recreate high‑stress situations and allow health care teams to sharpen their skills in a controlled setting, ultimately strengthening the quality of care delivered to Veterans across Middle Tennessee.

After the ribbon is cut, guests will be invited to tour the building, meet TVHS leaders, and learn more about the services available to Veterans through the Tennessee Valley system. Staff will be on hand to answer questions and share how the expanded space will support both patient care and clinical education for years to come.

The Alvin C. York VA Medical Center is a full-service hospital, plus it provides a wide range of services, from primary and ambulatory care to specialized tertiary care, transplant services, mental health support, and spinal cord injury outpatient care.

Again, the public is invited to attend the ribbon cutting and tour of the renovated building 107 on Friday (1/23/2026) from 1:00 to 2:00PM at building 107 on the campus of the Alvin C. York VA Medical Center, 3400 Memorial Blvd., Murfreesboro.
