NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Metro Nashville Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man wanted on multiple felony charges, including aggravated rape, aggravated assault, and aggravated burglary, stemming from an alleged sexual assault involving a minor. A warrant naming the suspect was issued earlier this week on Monday, and as of late Wednesday morning, he had not been captured.

Detectives with the Metro Nashville Police Department Youth Services Division say 31-year-old Mena Awad, who previously told a different agency that he lived in Smyrna, is accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl inside her Millwood Drive apartment on the morning of December 31, 2025. Millwood Drive is near the Nashville BNA airport.

According to investigators, Awad allegedly entered the victim’s unlocked apartment in Davidson County around 7:00 a.m. on New Year’s Eve and assaulted the teen in her bedroom. The victim told detectives she did not know the suspect and reported that he was carrying both a gun and a knife during the incident. Detectives identified Awad as a suspect after reviewing surveillance footage from the surrounding area.

Police say Awad is believed to be homeless and was last known to frequent areas around Millwood Drive and Murfreesboro Pike, both in Nashville and both within two miles of BNA.

Court records show Awad has a criminal history in Rutherford and surrounding counties. He was arrested in late 2020 by the La Vergne Police Department on three counts of stalking. Two years later, he pleaded guilty to the three misdemeanor stalking charges. At the time of sentencing, Awad told authorities he was living in the Hertfordshire Way area of Smyrna, near Lee Road and Rocky Fork Road. His past sentence for the stalking case included 11 months and 29 days in jail, along with a court order prohibiting direct or indirect contact with the stalking victim and the victim’s family.

Earlier that same year, Awad was charged in La Vergne with leaving the scene of a property damage accident. He later pleaded guilty to the Class A misdemeanor and received an additional sentence of 11 months and 29 days in the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center.

Following his time in Rutherford County, Awad was transported to Wilson County, where he was convicted of violating a protective order. Court records further indicate a probation violation conviction in 2023, followed by a second probation violation in 2025.

In the latest Nashville case, Metro Police urge anyone in Middle Tennessee with information about Awad’s whereabouts to contact police at 615-862-8600. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Nashville CrimeStoppers at 615-742-7463, where callers may be eligible for a cash reward.
