MURFREESBORO, TN (WGNS News) - Walnut House, 116 N. Walnut St., will come alive on Saturday, January 31, 2026, as theater companies from across Rutherford County gather for the Curtains UP! Theater Revue, a one‑night celebration of live performances presented in partnership with the Rutherford Arts Alliance and hosted by Kara Kemp. The evening promises a lively mix of scenes, songs, and standout moments from area performers.

The revue is designed as a collaborative showcase, bringing together a wide range of local theater organizations to highlight the depth and creativity of this county’s performing arts scene. Among the groups taking the stage are Bravo Boro, Carpe Artista, Center for the Arts, Consider This Theatre Company, Middle Tennessee Children’s Theatre, Murfreesboro Little Theatre, and Springhouse Theatre Company. Each will present a scene, monologue, or musical number of their choosing, giving audiences a taste of the diverse productions offered throughout the year.

Festivities begin with a 5 p.m. reception, where guests can enjoy light snacks and drinks available for purchase while meeting representatives from the participating theaters. The performance itself starts at 6 p.m., filling the Walnut House with an evening of energy, artistry, and community spirit.

Rutherford Arts Alliance Executive Director Jeff Lysyczyn said, "The event reflects the strength of the local arts community. Rutherford County has an embarrassment of riches in our theatre community. Curtains UP! provides theatre‑goers with an opportunity to sample many of the organizations that put on quality productions all year long.”

Admission is free, though a suggested donation of $10 per person will support ongoing arts initiatives. Tickets can be reserved by completing the online form provided by organizers.
