Blackman Programs Climbing in Class 4A

Competing in the state’s largest classification (Class 4A), the Blackman Blaze programs continue to prove they are among the elite.

The Lady Blaze (20-3) saw positive movement this week, climbing to No. 6 in the state. They notably jumped ahead of Green Hill and Sevier County in the polls after maintaining a strong winning percentage through the heart of the district schedule.

The Blackman Boys (20-3) held their ground at No. 9 this week. In a classification heavily dominated by Memphis-area teams like Bartlett and Whitehaven, the Blaze remain the primary local threat to break into the state’s top five as the regular season winds down.

Private School Power: PCA and MTCS

Providence Christian Academy had a banner week in the polls. The PCA Boys (20-6) maintained their stronghold on the No. 1 spot, sweeping all 12 first-place votes. Meanwhile, the PCA Girls (20-4) made their debut in the Top 5 after being unranked last week.

Middle Tennessee Christian School remains a fixture in the statewide conversation. The MTCS Girls (21-4) held onto their No. 4 ranking in Division II-A, staying just one point ahead of their local rivals at PCA in what is shaping up to be a thrilling postseason race between the two Murfreesboro schools.
