MURFREESBORO, TN (WGNS) — The annual fashion show at Stones River Manor will take on special significance this year, marking the first time the fundraiser will be held inside the facility’s newly constructed enrichment center... That was Natalie Lewis with Stones River Manor in Murfreeesboro (Click Here for Ticket Information).

The event, scheduled for Saturday, February 28, will begin with a special brunch at 9:00 a.m., followed by the highly anticipated runway showcase of models... Lewis highlighted what makes the show so much fun is the fact that the models are made up of residents and staff of Stones River Manor.

The fashion show began several years ago as a creative way to help fund construction of the Manor’s new center. With the building now complete, proceeds from this year’s event will go directly toward paying off construction costs for the structure — a space designed specifically to enhance daily life for residents.

This new enrichment center will be used for a variety of purposes... The enrichment center lives up to its name. It was created to expand opportunities for engagement, fellowship, and wellness among residents.

Natalie Lewis, who is part of the Manor community, told WGNS that residents eagerly anticipate the event each year.

“The seniors love this event,” Lewis said, noting that many have been carefully selecting their outfits in preparation for the big day.

This year’s show is sponsored by Belk, a longtime department store in Murfreesboro. Residents have been working closely with the retailer to choose what Lewis described as the “perfect outfit” for their moment on the runway...

While the immediate goal of this year’s fundraiser is to retire remaining construction debt on the new center, future fashion show proceeds will be directed into the Manor’s Benevolent Fund... That Benevolent Fund plays a critical role in supporting residents who encounter unexpected financial hardships, helping ensure they can remain in the care and community they call home.

Stones River Manor holds a unique place in local history. The nonprofit senior living facility, sponsored by area Churches of Christ, first opened its doors in 1977 as Murfreesboro’s first home for the elderly. It later became the first licensed assisted living facility in Rutherford County.

Beginning with just 29 rooms, the Manor has grown significantly over nearly five decades. Today, it serves approximately 130 families and their loved ones and employs more than 100 staff members.

The campus now includes five levels of assisted living and memory care, independent living apartments in one- and two-bedroom configurations, adult day care services, and skilled nursing and rehabilitation programs.

Next year, in 2027, Stones River Manor will celebrate its Golden Anniversary — 50 years of service to the Murfreesboro community. Organizers say this year’s fashion show is not only a fundraiser but also a celebration of that enduring mission: enriching lives at every stage.
