SMYRNA, TN (WGNS) - Lancaster Christian Academy has another reason to celebrate this week, and it’s a big one. Senior guard Josh Whitt has officially joined the 2,500‑point club, a milestone that cements his place among the most prolific scorers in Tennessee high‑school basketball. The achievement comes as the LCA boys wrapped up a dominant 19–3 regular season.
Whitt, a Class of 2026 standout, has been nothing short of electric for the Knights. Splitting time at point guard and shooting guard, the team captain has put together a season that feels almost unreal on paper: 38.7 points per game, ranking third in the nation and first in Tennessee. He’s made 40‑point nights look routine, including a 43‑point performance against Glencliff on January 6.
His scoring prowess isn’t new. Whitt crossed the 1,000‑point mark as a junior back in November 2024, then promptly dropped 49 points in the same game. But this year, he’s elevated every part of his game. Through ten reported contests, he’s averaging 8.8 rebounds, 3.3 steals, and nearly 3 assists per outing—numbers that show he’s far more than a scorer.
Scouting reports from Prep Hoops describe him as a creative three‑level threat with a smooth spin move, high motor, and a team‑first mentality. College programs have taken notice, and interest continues to grow.
Off the court, Whitt is just as impressive. He carries a 4.0 GPA, balancing academics with the demands of leading one of Middle Tennessee’s most explosive offenses.
Lancaster Christian Academy, located at 150 Soccer Way in Smyrna, has become a familiar name in the region’s basketball conversation—and Whitt’s rise is a big reason why.
