SMYRNA, TN – Lancaster Christian Academy proudly celebrates a historic season as senior guard Josh Whitt has officially surpassed 2,500 career points, earned All-District honors, and delivered a District Championship-clinching buzzer-beater this past Saturday.
Whitt’s milestone cements his place among the most prolific scorers in Tennessee high school basketball and caps off a dominant 19–3 regular season for the Knights.
A standout in the Class of 2026 and team captain, Whitt is averaging an impressive 38.7 points per game, ranking first in Tennessee and third nationally. His ability to score at all three levels has made 40-point performances a regular occurrence, including a 43-point outing against Glencliff on January 6.
In the District Championship game, Whitt delivered the defining moment of the season — a last-second, buzzer-beating shot to secure the title for Lancaster Christian Academy. The game-winning basket can be viewed at the 31:47 mark of the following video:
Whitt first surpassed the 1,000-point milestone as a junior in November 2024, exploding for 49 points in that same contest. This season, he has elevated every aspect of his game, averaging 8.8 rebounds, 3.3 steals, and nearly 3 assists per game, proving his value extends well beyond scoring.
His outstanding performance throughout the season earned him All-District recognition, further affirming his impact on the court and his leadership within the program.
College programs continue to take notice of the dynamic guard, praised by scouts as a creative three-level scorer with a smooth spin move, relentless motor, and team-first mentality.
Off the court, Whitt maintains a 4.0 GPA, embodying the excellence Lancaster Christian Academy strives to develop in both athletics and academics.
