An arrest has been made in a case that dates back to 2005 in Murfreesboro involving a man who now lives in Gadsden, Alabama. Murfreesboro Police worked with the Department of Children Services to nail down multiple charges involving the possible rape of two children in ’05.

Ronell A. Willis was arrested by Detective Tommy Roberts after he picked up what appeared to be a cold case. Evidently the case was investigated by Detective Roberts after receiving a call from the mother of one of the victims. The two detectives who initially worked the case back in 2005 are no longer with the police department, according to information in the arrest report.

Detective Roberts spent about four months on the case and turned over his information to the Rutherford County Grand Jury where charges were handed down for two counts of “Rape of a Child” and six counts of “Aggravated Sexual Battery.” Willis was booked under a $400,000 bond at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center in Murfreesboro - where is is today (6/24/13). The two young girls who were the victim’s in the case 8-years ago may have to appear before the courts in the near future to submit testimony.
