NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A woman in Nashville who is described by police as a prolific shoplifter is behind bars after being arrested Thursday during a traffic stop on Central Pike by detectives with the Violent Crimes Division of the .
Metro authorities report that 31-year-old Lamonica Ensley was taken into custody on 24 outstanding warrants tied to theft cases dating back to last spring. Many of the incidents reportedly occurred at the Bath & Body Works store located inside the .
According to police, an ongoing investigation by Organized Retail Crime detectives identified Ensley as one of three serial offenders who frequently entered the store to steal merchandise. Investigators allege the group repeatedly targeted the retailer as part of a broader pattern of organized shoplifting activity.
Court records show Ensley is currently on probation and required to check in regularly with the Tennessee Probation and Parole office in Lebanon, TN through 2027.
Her charges include more than a dozen counts of theft of merchandise, six counts of theft of property, and organized retail crime. As of Friday, she remains jailed on a $224,500 bond.
The investigation into the alleged retail theft ring remains ongoing. Authorities have not released additional details about the other suspects believed to be involved.
