Rutherford County, TN — The Rutherford County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. proudly awarded $6,700 in scholarships to deserving Rutherford County, Tennessee students in 2025, continuing its long-standing commitment to community access and uplift.

These scholarship funds were made possible through the chapter's annual fundraising efforts, including its popular seasonal raffles and the beloved Old School Party — events that bring the community together while investing directly in the future of local youth.

For years, the Rutherford County Alumnae Chapter has remained steadfast in its mission to support students pursuing higher education, recognizing scholarships as a powerful tool for empowerment and generational impact. This most recent distribution reflects not only financial generosity, but a legacy of service and advocacy rooted in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.'s Five-Point Programmatic Thrust: Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness and Involvement.

The work is far from over. The chapter is currently accepting applications for the Dorothy L. Stevens Scholarship, available to eligible Rutherford County youth until March 21, 2026.

Additionally, the chapter's upcoming “From Ticket to Takeoff” Spring Raffle, in partnership with the Pyramid Foundation of Tennessee, will further support scholarship funding, ensuring that more students can benefit from these vital resources in the years ahead.

Community members are encouraged to stay engaged, participate in upcoming fundraisers, and help sustain this impactful work.
