Shortly after 5:20 Tuesday evening (5/24/2026), Smyrna Fire Department was dispatched to  called to the 200 block of Cannon Drive for a structure fire. When crews arrived they found a vehicle and the home’s attached carport heavily involved in flames.

The Engine Company moved in quickly, getting water on the fire while other firefighters searched the home to make sure everyone was out. Two dogs were found inside and safely removed, and thanks to the fast response, fire damage to the interior of the home was kept to a minimum.

No residents or firefighters were hurt, and investigators are now working to determine what sparked the blaze.
