CANNON COUNTY, TN (WGNS) — Special agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have charged three individuals in connection with an ongoing theft investigation in Cannon County that authorities say may be tied to a broader, multi-state theft operation. At the request of 16th Judicial District Attorney General Jennings Jones, TBI agents launched an investigation into Kamay Miller, age 38, Nyema Malloy, age 40, and Zaire Harper, age 32, after the three had initially been arrested by the Woodbury Police Department on shoplifting charges.
During the course of the investigation, authorities say agents uncovered information suggesting the suspects may have been involved in multiple thefts across Tennessee. Investigators also determined that at least one of the individuals may be connected to a large-scale theft operation that spans multiple states.
According to the TBI, Kamay Miller was arrested on February 20 and charged with one count of Conspiracy to Commit Theft of Property over $10,000. Miller was later transported to Cannon County and booked into the Cannon County Jail on February 23, where she is being held on a $60,000 bond.
Authorities said that on March 3, Nyema Malloy and Zaire Harper were each charged with one count of Conspiracy to Commit Theft of Property over $10,000. Both suspects were subsequently transferred to the Cannon County Jail, where they are also being held on $60,000 bonds.
The investigation remains ongoing as TBI agents continue to review potential connections between the suspects and theft cases across Tennessee and possibly in other states.
Officials emphasize that the charges and allegations referenced in the release are accusations of criminal conduct, not evidence. The defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
