England highlights several events designed to engage students, faculty, and the broader Murfreesboro community in environmental awareness and sustainability. One of the major highlights is the April 13 lecture by nationally known ecologist and author Dr. Doug Tallamy, whose work promotes the use of native plants to restore biodiversity and local ecosystems. The event includes a reception, keynote presentation, and book signing.

The discussion also covers the upcoming Level II Arboretum designation ceremony on April 16, recognizing MTSU’s campus as a living laboratory with more than 100 species of trees across its 500-acre campus.

Additionally, listeners learn about the “Table Talk for the Earth” event on April 22, where campus groups and community organizations will gather for sustainability discussions, music, and food. England also previews other events throughout the month, including plant workshops, compost initiatives, and participation in the Middle Tennessee Electric Earth Day celebration on the Murfreesboro Square.
