Man Charged with Second-Degree Murder After Woman Found Dead in Mobile Home

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — A 33-year-old man is in custody following a homicide investigation that began Thursday, March 19, after Murfreesboro Police discovered a deceased woman inside a mobile home on Fairfax Drive. Reports show that MPD Officers were dispatched to 135 Fairfax Drive after receiving a report of an unresponsive female. Upon arrival, officers located a 35-year-old woman dead inside the residence.

Detectives with the department’s Violent Crimes Unit responded to the scene and, after conducting a preliminary investigation, determined the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death were consistent with a homicide.

As the investigation progressed, patrol officers identified and located a suspect, later identified as 33-year-old Arthur Moore. He was taken into custody without incident.

Moore was transported to the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, where he has been formally charged with second-degree murder.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
