ANTIOCH, Tenn. — A suspect has been identified in the strangulation death of a woman whose body was discovered inside an Antioch apartment earlier this month. According to Metro Nashville Police, 37-year-old Darrion Young has been named in a criminal homicide warrant in connection to the death of his girlfriend, Kierra Timmons, 26.
Metro Nashville Homicide Unit detectives, along with the Kentucky State Police, are now asking for the public’s help in locating Mr. Young.
Authorities said Timmons was found deceased inside an apartment on Brittany Park Drive in Antioch on Saturday morning, March 14. Officers responded to the location to conduct a welfare check after being contacted by two of Timmons’ friends. Upon arrival, they discovered her body inside the residence that belonged to Young, but the man was nowhere to be found.
Investigators determined the victim was strangled to death in what may have been a domestic situation that escalated, but police are still piecing together the puzzle. Police details also indicate that Ms. Timmons was found dead - - just two days after celebrating her 26th birthday.
The investigation spans multiple jurisdictions after Kentucky State Police discovered Timmons’ red Dodge Charger abandoned on an Interstate 24 bridge crossing the Cumberland River. Officials said the vehicle was found with the engine still running, the driver’s door open, and hazard lights activated. Inside the vehicle, authorities located Young’s driver’s license.
Police said Young was last seen in Nashville on Friday, hours before the vehicle was found in Kentucky and less than 24 hours before Timmons’ body was discovered in Antioch. Authorities have not ruled out the possibility that Young may have driven to Kentucky and then jumped into the Cumberland River. Regardless, Metro Police reported on Friday, March 20, 2026, that his whereabouts remain unknown.
Prior to the death of Ms. Timmons, documents in the Rutherford County Courts indicate her last known residence was listed at Rutherford Pointe Apartments in La Vergne, approximately 9.5 miles from the Antioch apartment where she was found dead.
Investigators are urging anyone with information about Young’s whereabouts to come forward. Tips can be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Authorities say information leading to an arrest may be eligible for a cash reward.
The investigation remains ongoing. See the previous article on the death of Timmons HERE.
