MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WGNS) — It has been a season of celebration at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic School as both students and faculty members have been recognized for outstanding performance.
The school's 8th-grade academic and creative teams recently returned from competition with a collection of top honors. The 8th-grade competitors set a high bar, bringing home 1st and 2nd place finishes in their specific categories. Notably, several students achieved the rare feat of earning perfect 100 scores from judges. The Readers Theatre team followed suit, securing a perfect score of their own to take 1st place in their division and 1st place overall.

In addition to student achievements, the school community gathered to honor one of its own educators. Mrs. Jodi Vehr was announced as the first-ever recipient of the Christ the Teacher Award. This prestigious honor was established to recognize educators who embody the core values of Catholic education, including visionary leadership and a commitment to serving the broader Murfreesboro community with compassion.
School officials noted that Mrs. Vehr’s "servant heart" has left a lasting impact on faculty, families, and students alike.
